Just because you are a senior citizen, there is no reason that you should not be able to take vacations and enjoy life. Traveling will help keep your minds sharp and your body in shape. If you do not want to travel alone, there is always the option to join a tour group. You can check with a travel agency, or if you are a member of an ARRP, they also offer tours.
If you decide to go to a travel agency make sure that they specialize in working with senior citizens and helping with their traveling needs. You also need to make sure that the tour you take is with people that you would enjoy being around and having fun with.
Traveling in a group may also make traveling more affordable because places will usually offer discounts, including hotels and airlines. Make sure that when you travel that you have your medical cards, your physician's information, a list of family contact information and a list of your medical conditions if any and medication if you are taking any.
When you are packing your medication, make sure that you are taking the prescription bottles with you and not just the pills in one of those date containers. Check your prescriptions and make sure that you have at least an extra week in the bottles so you do not run out. If you are traveling across different time zones check with your physician on how to take your medication.
