Taking a family vacation can be fun and make many memories, but at times it can also be stressful. There are things that you can do to help make the trip less stressful and fun for the whole family. One thing that you can do is make sure that you are packing right. Depending on the age of the children you can let them pack their own bag. Do make sure that you pack a "fun" bag that should include some snacks, paper, crayons, puzzle books, and regular books. Just make sure that in the bag you have fun things to do for every age child in your family.
You should also make sure that you have a small cooler where you can pack drinks like juice pouches and bottles of water. Carry wipes, paper towels, and a couple of trash bags in the car. You should also make sure that you have a small first aid kit in the car. If you are flying, you probably will not need a first aid kit, but you should carry band-aids and general analgesics in your carryon bag. Make sure that you arrive at the airport early so you will have plenty of time to get checked in.
Make sure that your itinerary is packed with fun things to do and that the hotel you have booked has a pool and caters to children. You could also consider renting a vacation home to have more room.
