The way to visit the Golden Gate Park is on two wheels. On Saturday and Sunday they have car free day so this is a great place for children to learn how to ride their bikes. Tourists who visit the area love to rent bikes and take a ride in the park, but it is so much more than just a bike ride.
You can start your tour at the entrance of the park on JFK Drive. If you want to take a break on your bike ride make a stop at the Conservatory of Flowers, which is a beautiful greenhouse. It was opened in 1879, where you can see, from all over the world, a variety of exotic plants. You can also see in the greenhouse a one hundred year old Imperial Philodendron.
On your bike ride you can also visit two of the beloved museums in the city. The California Academy of Science opened in 2008 at it current location and offers engaging scientific exhibits such as a rain forest four stories high, a variety of aquariums, and more.
You can also visit the M.H. de Young Memorial Museum. At this museum there are permanent exhibits and there are also traveling exhibits like the Renaissance Painters of Passion. You can also visit the Hamon Observation Tower. There is also the Polo Field where you can see a glimpse of the how biking was in the past. At the end of the trail you can see the Dutch Windmill and tulip garden.
